Product Review: Canon PIXMA PRO9500 MARK II

In this era of digitization, you can now easily print professional style photographs even at home or in office. Designed for the photographers, graphic artists and others, Canon’s new Pro 9500 Mark II wide format inkjet printer is equipped with 10-color LUCIA Ink System and Canon’s FINE technology for high quality printouts. When I received this printer for review, I was excited to play around with it, but then I was also worried that like other printers, the print quality might not be good and also the ink system may not work beyond just a few printouts but this one proved to be the opposite. As mentioned earlier, the printer comes with a 10-color LUCIA Ink System for professional color reproduction and three dedicated monochrome inks to add the artistic touch to the photographs. You can print up to A3+ of print sizes at a speed of 8min approx.

Camera Review: Canon EOS 7D

The Canon EOS 7D sports a respectable size and heft, its curves and 820-gram weight letting it rest nicely in one hand without feeling like a rock. Long-time Canon users will surely recognize the company's design philosophy, as evidenced by the prominent command dial at the rear and the familiar Exposure Lock and AF point select buttons around it. This cluster of switches share space with the equally prominent 3-inch Clear View II LCD screen and an array of buttons for features like the Main Menu, Raw+JPEG simultaneous capture, Quick Menu and Playback. There's also the Live View toggle which easily changes roles from Movie Capture to Still Capture. These are all thankfully within an easy thumb's reach.

Tips & Techs: The Courtside Camera

The player grabs the ball, goes coast-to-coast on the hardcourt and skies to the hole. He scores. The buzzer sounds. The crowd goes wild. Few other sports are as exciting to watch and play as basketball, a game so action-packed that it has entered the realm of pop culture, the moves and fashions of such legendary ballplayers as Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson being burned in the memory of enthusiasts everywhere. Not all photographers are fortunate enough to be able to shoot this level of game, but thankfully here in Southeast Asia there is the ASEAN Basketball League - home to the Singapore Slingers and its world-class brand of basketball - where budding sports photographers can indulge in some courtside sports adventures. Here are some tips on documenting the action on the basketball court.
